Race Council Cymru chose this theme for Black History 2020:

2,000 Nations - Celebrating Diversity - Black History Wales

People of African and Caribbean descent originate from around 2,000 different ethnic groups, with a range of over 2000 languages and multiple cultural traditions.

A year to explore, the inventions, educational achievements, innovative contributions and to celebrate and share this rich heritage through the Arts here in Wales.

Update June 2020: Agreement was reached in 2017 that Race Council Cymru was best placed to lead BHM for Wales and applications are being considered by funders to put a support structure in place.

Iolanda Buna Viegas has taken on the role of as Co-ordinator for BHM activities in North Wales, with a focus on Wrexham, while Dr Marian Gwyn has agreed to oversee the co-ordination of a programme of activities in BHM in North West Wales.

N.B. This site was set up to support and promote BHM activities that we know about, and it is still managed
by Learning Links International as an archive
and a working tool to update the programme of activities
and research into the stories of Black History in Wales
and currently displays information from the team
about our plans and activities, and other information
about stories of Black History.

PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOU WANT TO ADD ANYTHING !
